Baptism
We at Morrison Heights Baptist Church rejoice with you as you place your faith in Christ as your only hope for salvation. Because of your commitment, we would like to offer you the following dates to express your faith through the ordinance of Believer’s Baptism.
As a part of our baptism service, we give you the opportunity to tell of your faith in Christ through a 1-2 minute testimony video. The recording of this video is required in order to be scheduled for baptism.
Baptism videos are recorded each Sunday morning between 11:30–12:00 in the Pastor’s reception room (C108). If you need to schedule a different time to record your testimony, please complete this form or e-mail baptism@morrisonheights.org.
The following dates have been scheduled for baptism during our evening service:
Sunday, February 26
Sunday, March 25
Sunday, May 6
Sunday, June 3
Making Your Baptism Testimony Video
We believe your spiritual story will make a strong connection with those who witness our baptism service. We firmly believe that God will have others at that service who will witness your baptism and connect with you and your story. This creates community as well as an opening for God’s Spirit to penetrate their lives.
Below are four questions for you to think about as you prepare for recording. We recommend you either write or type your story by answering the questions. Bring a copy to your recording so we can read it and then help you with your recording session as much as possible. You should be prepared to give, at most, a three-minute version of your story of faith. You may find that answering the last question below with a 1-2 minute response may accurately capture all you wish to say in this video testimony.
What was my life like before I met Christ?
How did I meet Christ?
What is my life like now that I have become a follower of Christ?
Why do I want to be baptized?
Information about the Baptism Service
You will need to arrive in the Baptistery area at 5:40 pm on the Sunday of your scheduled baptism.
We will provide each candidate with baptismal robes, but you will need to wear garment underneath that you do not mind getting wet. Personal items you will need to bring include: a change of clothes (including underwear) and grooming helps for your hair. We furnish a towel and also a handheld hair dryer (if needed). Private dressing rooms are provided for each baptismal candidate.
Baptism is always at the beginning of the service so that you will have the opportunity to return to the worship center for the remainder of the worship time after you dry off and change clothes.
