Morrison Heights Baptist Church was constituted in June 1958 through the efforts of thirty people with a vision to begin a second Southern Baptist Church in the community of Clinton. Together with 126 others, they chartered Morrison Heights. First Baptist Church of Clinton (then known as Clinton Baptist Church) supported Morrison Heights as a mission aided by nine other Hinds County churches. Over its fifty plus year history, Morrison Heights has participated in launching four more SBC churches in the Metro Baptist Association alone.
The church has grown from its original 156 charter members to over 3900 total members. The church’s original campus on Morrison Drive began in a tent and experienced five major building programs. In 2005 Morrison Heights began construction on the current campus on Hampstead Boulevard relocating in Spring 2007.
