C.A.R.E. Literacy Tutor Training Workshop

Can you imagine not being able to read?  Many people in the metro area desperately need help learning to read.  Many of these people also desperately need to hear the gospel message.  C.A.R.E. (Christian Adult Reading Enrichment), a local Christian literacy program, is committed to addressing both issues.

• Potential tutors should be ministry-minded Christians who can read.
• An adult reading/writing workshop sponsored by the MS Baptist Convention Board will teach you everything you need to know.
• Tutors must complete one 14-hour training workshop before being assigned a student.
• C.A.R.E. will match trained tutors with students, based on the schedules of tutors and students.
• Every tutoring session will include Bible verses/concepts.

For more information about signing up for one of the adult reading/writing workshops, please call Judy Williams at 601 918-1600.  A small fee of $25 will be charged for instructional materials, but these same materials will be used again for tutoring.
