For over 12 years our church has offered FAITH Evangelism to train our members to share their faith and accomplish ministry. However, we feel the need to make a fresh approach and develop new strategies for equipping our members to be effective witnesses for Christ and to minister to our church and community.
Before FAITH, we used Evangelism Explosion for 10 years. Classic EE (as it is now called) is probably the greatest, most inclusive tool out there for sharing the gospel…but the strategy had its drawbacks. A semester was 16 weeks, there were tests, homework, and a very long outline to learn. We need effective training that is: Biblically solid, easy to learn, time sensitive for today’s busy families, and updated for our changing culture. We have found a new tool in an “old friend.”
EE has a new strategy called Everyday Evangelism (Ev-2) which is easy to learn. In fact, most people will learn the basic outline in the 2 sessions, called a Share Your Faith Workshop. We believe almost anyone can commit to attending 2 classes to learn to share their faith or increase their witnessing tool box.

Many of the people who attend the workshop will choose to go further and participate in a 7 week semester which will include supper, class, visitation, and report time. The 7 week EE Semester begins Tuesday, March 20, 5:30 — 8:00 pm. During the short class time, participants will learn additional scriptures and illustrations to go with their outline, if they choose to use them. Everyone attends a workshop only once. It will be offered twice a year. If you have already been through EE, it is very much the same outline, with just a few modifications.
Jesus said to go into all the world and make disciples—we must start in our own backyards! Many people right here in the Clinton area don’t know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Most will never come to church on their own, so it’s up to us to invite them. Jesus has called us all to share the Gospel with our family, friends, co-workers, and community. Whether a new believer or a long-time follower of Christ, your calling is the same. Are you prepared to share the hope we have in Christ?
In January 2010, we established a goal of attempting to knock on every door in Clinton over the next three years as a way to reach out to our community in a personal way. In order to do that, we need at least 100 volunteers for each blitz. You don’t have to talk a lot (or at all) or be trained in sharing your faith. You just need a partner or we will pair you with someone. For each blitz, we put together hospitality bags and identify a neighborhood to visit.
So far, in 5 successful blitzes spanning 2010-2011, we have contacted well over 1,000 families in various Clinton neighborhoods. For all who have participated in these blitzes, it’s been a great opportunity to get to know our neighbors and share what’s going on at Morrison Heights.
