National Missions
“Telling people about Jesus everywhere.”
The eternal hope for all peoples is the Gospel and each Christian is called to share the Gospel with everyone, everywhere. For that reason, our Mission Ministry has established strategic partnerships in several cities and states across the U.S. and North America through which our members have an opportunity to tell people everywhere (Acts1:8) about salvation and forgiveness that is found in Jesus Christ.
Church Plant Strategy for Canada
White Rock, British Columbia, is a city of almost 20,000 with not one Baptist church that is affiliated with the West Coast Baptist Association of Canada. The Association currently has two Bible study groups in the City and has been praying for a church plant for years. Morrison Heights has been asked by the
North American Mission Board -Send North America-Vancouver city coordinator to consider praying that God would raise up a church plant pastor for the City and to partner with the church planter to establish a church in the area.
Several vision teams from MHBC have visited White Rock and have spent days praying, witnessing, and talking to individuals about the city. Many connections have been made God is blessing our time and efforts and for that we are thankful. The process will continue as additional teams plan other trips. Please pray with us regarding White Rock.
Assisting Church Plant Pastors
We want to assist church plant pastors and support church planting movements in areas where God is at work and souls are being transformed. Montana is a true mission field for church starts. Morrison Heights has partnered with three new churches and their pastors to build churches in Missoula and Troy, Montana. Many mission teams have worked to construct facilities, repair roofs, and conduct prayer walks, bible studies, and sports camps to direct the community to these church plants. And God is blessing as we’ve seen their congregations double and double again.
Three or four trips are planned each year to assist our church plant partners. If you would like to participate in one of the trips or if you need more information about our National Mission focus, contact Rob Chambers at 601-925-6425.
White Rock Mission Trip
Date: June 29-July 6, 2013 | Destination: White Rock BC, Canada
Morrison Heights will be sending a team of seven to White Rock, B.C. this summer. They will be assisting the city as they welcome 70,000 – 80,000 people to their city to celebrate Canada Day. Our hope is to make new relationships that will develop into an opportunity to plant a Southern Baptist Church in White Rock through North American Mission Board-Send North America-Vancouver. The city has asked us to be ambassadors for the day passing out Canadian flags, pins and programs for the festival. We will also be reaching out to those in the town and surrounding areas to seek what God would have us do.
