SBC Call to Prayer

Select a friend or family member and pray that they would come to faith in Christ.

• Pray for a receptive heart to the gospel.
• Ask God to provide divine opportunities to tell that friend or family member about your own personal experience of coming to faith in Christ and how God is working in your life today.
• Pray for that friend or family member to respond to the gospel.

Select a church staff member or elder and pray for them in their efforts to penetrate lostness.

• Ask God to give a spirit of willingness to diligently plan and carry out His vision.
• Pray for leaders in your church to be filled with the compassion of Jesus so they can teach about the Savior who offers grace, peace and direction in a chaotic world.
• Pray for God to give your church a passion for making Christ’s name known in your community and among the nations.

Our church is praying for the city and people of Vancouver, British Columbia.

• Pray for God to raise up people in our body to be committed to prayer, giving resources, and investing themselves for the furtherance of the gospel in this city.
• Pray for the Holy Spirit to be working in the hearts of indigenous people to turn to God.
• Pray for God to raise up church planters for this area who He has equipped for this ministry.
• Pray for an appropriate church-planting strategy to be defined that will be effective in Vancouver.
• Pray that God would begin to tear down walls of pride, prejudice, self-righteousness, fear, and pain.

Our church is praying for the city and people of Cusco, Peru.

• Pray for the protection of the children of Peru; that God will raise up “safe homes” for godly influence and provision.
• Pray for the few Christian churches in the area; that others will stand with them in support of the truth of the gospel.
• Pray that God will provide workers to share the gospel in the streets and markets with the locals.
• Pray for wisdom as MHBC attempts to determine possible ministry, mission, and evangelism involvement.
• Pray for Jeremy and Nelda, owners of Elim Orphanage; that God will continue to provide for their needs as they care for and minister to the children God brings.
• Pray that God will provide a pastor for a new chapel in the Elim boys home.

Select a national, state or local leader and pray for guidance in leading the Southern Baptist Convention.

• Pray for wisdom and discernment of God’s will for their lives and ministries.
• Pray for God’s provision and protection.
• Pray for God’s anointing of the Holy Spirit, empowering them to minister to those held captive by sin.
