SECOND HARVESTA Ministry of Morrison Heights
In an effort to be diligent to protect the health of our clients and volunteers, Morrison Heights will make the following changes to our Second Harvest Ministry for the time being.
- We will register our clients from their car.
- We will not be meeting for a devotion.
- We will not open the clothes closet.
- We will continue to load groceries at the drive thru line.
Our hope is that with these procedures in place we can continue to meet the needs of our clients while creating a safe environment for everyone involved. These measures should reduce the number of volunteers needed while still allowing us to serve our community.
Volunteers, we ask that you consider carefully your vulnerability to the virus and do not put yourself at risk by participating in Second Harvest. If you are above 60 or have a compromised immune system, we ask that you consider taking a much-deserved break and allow others to step up and serve during this time.
Meeting the Food and Clothing Needs of Those in Our Community
Second Harvest provides food, clothing, and counseling to residents of Hinds County two days a week. Our volunteers and counselors have the opportunity to share the gospel and help provide food and clothing to those in need. Second Harvest utilizes volunteers from Morrison Heights as well as other local churches, Mississippi College, and caring residents of Clinton.
What You Need to Bring
In order to participate in Second Harvest, clients must bring a valid photo ID and Social Security cards for each member of their household.
